Your Classroom Content as a Podcast?
Google's NotebookLM's newest feature!
Last year, Google introduced NotebookLM, a tool designed to help us organize, analyze, and summarize our teaching materials.
It’s been a game-changer for me. I use it to upload important documents that are given to me, keeping them organized in one spot. The best part is that I can ask the notebook questions, just like I would with ChatGPT, and the results come directly from the source materials I uploaded and even cites the sources.
Here are a few ways you can use it:
For Teachers/Educators:
Summarize articles or research materials quickly.
Create study guides and discussion questions in minutes.
Adapt complex content for different student levels.
Streamline research for curriculum development.
If you feel like pioneering this with your students, double-check your school’s AI policy. Here are some student use cases:
For Students:
Summarize notes and readings for study sessions.
Generate outlines and ideas for essays or projects.
Organize research and pull key points for assignments.
Prepare for tests with AI-generated quizzes or study guides.
One of the newest features is the ability to turn classroom content and materials into a podcast—great for students who learn best by listening or for creating audio versions of your lessons.
